Oh, Fall is definitely here

I went out trying and trying to find SOMETHING to take a picture of. Not much at this time. Trees are only just starting to tinge with a faint wash of color and no one much likes landscapes (I do) unless you are expert like Lisa RedWillow. Now there's a girl who can make a white wall look fabulous!!

SO, I came home after a bit with a really not too hot picture over at the river (Clinch River) toward the trees that were, as I just said..only just starting to turn. It will be 90 again here today. I admit to being well over that. Tomorrow is the first day of Fall and it will be..guess what? 90 again.

I have the paint I wrote of and he'll be calling me sometime next week to say when he can paint. He usually chooses a Friday for some inexplicable reason which almost unfailingly is not a good day or evening for me. So I turned down this weekend. Several of the family will be here and paint..nah, not too pleasant.

Here's that photo from this morning. No way will it go to Flickr. I'm desperate to find something to post, but that won't be it.

See ya over at your house.

  1. Clinch River? As in Clinch Mountain? As in the Clinch Mountain Boys??? Love me some old time bluegrass!

And the photo is lovely. Don't sell yourself short.

  2. neat shot... if it was me I would step back and shoot it from an overhanging tree branch.

  3. Sis I think it looks great.. nothin wrong with that at all. I find that if you are trying to take a pic of one thing or another that is exactly the time you won't find anything. I go with NO EXPECTATIONS and things happen! : )

  4. Lisa is a wonderful photographer without a doubt but I do indeed like the picture you've got there. I smile at your temperatures there...I don't think we'll ever see a September that hot. we stand at sixty now and that's just kinda how it is.

  6. Oops, I made a typo so I rewrote this. This is a very nice picture. I myself wouldn't even try to compete with Lisa or some of the other people on here who are the photo experts. I just like looking at their work :)

  8. It is not always about geting t the perfect photo for me it's when trying to get the photo it takes me outside and into nature. Where thru the camera's eye you are looking far more closely at the details that it shares. But i have to say I am dissapointed when I do see something so beautiful but can't seem to really capture what I saw with the camera. But as with your photo here any reflection seen in water with hints of color is so beautiful. I know what you saw and it was beautiful. I too have problems with landscapes. I don't get much color here at my place I should one nice day go for a drive. Huh I am soo rooted here. Hugs Carrie

  10. Hi Carole. I too love landscapes, but need to get out of the city to see them. It looks like you had a beautiful day to be out in the great outdoors.
I love what I see in your photo. The mountains in the background, the beautiful coloured trees changing at its own pace, the beautiful, peaceful river, with the ducks, and the reflections in the water are so beautiful. Sometimes we just can't capture all that we see with our naked eye.
It is a beautiful photo Carole, and you are doing wonderful things with your camera and all that you are learning in the process. Don't be so hard on yourself, Girl. :)
One thing I have learned is not to compare myself with others when it comes to photography.
God has given us all certain gifts and talents to use , and develope. Many have developed and learned their skills way beyong me but I am thankful for what God has given me. I take many photos and delete alot of photos. I have learned to just enjoy being out and soaking in the beauty of nature and the things around me. Some I capture and others I just stand back and enjoy. Every picture has a story.
Anyway, I didn't mean to write a blog.
Thankyou for sharing this beautiful photo and just enjoy yourself and don't try so hard, and don't compare your yourself to others. You are a bright and talented person and God has gifted you in so many ways. You are a Blessing and a Joy to me and so many.
    Love and Hugs
    Dianne :)
