October 14, 2010

Man alive what a gorgeous day AGAIN! There is nothing like an October day..among all of the months of the year. October is, at least to me, special with its crystal blue sky, the sometimes appearing white puffy clouds..the lack of oppressive humidity and the temperatures are just perfection. Not too hot in the daytime, even if the temperature tours the thermiometer toward the 80 degree mark, and not too cold at night though we are grateful for our blankets long about midnight. I start out just covered to the waist maybe and wind up with my fleece blankie to my widdle neckie.

I go out with Victoria, my camera, and look for cool things to capture on the memory card for MY 'memory card'...otherwise known as my mind :-) The leaves have yet to really turn color. A few leaves on some trees have turned and it's hard to believe that within a few weeks they will not only have turned but I know that by Halloween, half at least, will be on the ground and the remaining ones only waiting to fall. They will be dead and brown.

Got the month of May over. Tomorrow I will do June 2007. Time is running out.

  3. Well, at first I called it HM for His Majesty. My son said it was not a male..it was female and hefted his big ol'Nikon D300 (since upgraded to a D700)up to show me how delicate MY Nikon D40 was in comparison. :-) So I said 'How about Penelope'? He said 'How about Victoria- as she was Queen of England'. I agreed so..she (not he) has been a girly camera called Victoria ever since.

  5. It seemed like it was just yesterday we had pretty trees and now the leaves are all over the yard. The one thing is my yellow rose bushes are still budding and popping out with nice blooms. Though one or two at a time, they don't seem ready to give up yet.

  10. We have had some glorious late sunny days here in Yorkshire! Been warm enough to wear just t-shirts, though chilly first thing and last thing at night. Wednesday there wasn't a cloud in the sky all day, and I asked it (in my mind of course, not out loud) where were YOU in July and August?
Our trees are also just beginning to 'turn' sort of half still green and half turning brown and orange.

    Take care

  11. I have to say that I envy your weather...in fact I even miss the weather of Montana at this point. Here there's endless heat and humidity that doesn't end even at night and the days are about as long as the shortest day of the year in America. Imaigine the heat of a hot day on summer then the length of days in the winter...I don't think I'll ever get used to it. I was outside with my wife staring at the moon which was a half moon...the top half dark...no, this ain't Kansas any more...or anywhere near America! Missing you and thinking about you Carole.
