Snowy Monday

My goodness..we were supposed to have just 2-3 inches of snow but that turned out to be twice as much. Luckily the street are clear so no problems. They got out early to scrape. I haven't swept off my car yet. I never have had the benefit of a garage and so many times I have wished I could. My property is on a slant and not easily built upon if I wanted a garage built, nor do I have the money for that.

I was rousted out f bed really early, 0555, and decided not to fight having to get up. I just did and fed her Majesty. Sigh,. Better than she has been so I won't complain.

I hope Jenny has an enjoyable meal with her friend regarding the roasted chicken and red potatoes. As I said before, I will say it again. (We women are like that..drats!) if you substitute ingredients, you are on your own. I can only say the recipe I put here in the blog was super good.

Meanwhile here is a snow picture. xox You might need to biggafy.

  1. Snow here, TOO! I was so surprised when it started. Then after about 2 hours it stopped and the news said only about an inch. WELL, here it is again, as I type, snowing like there's no tomorrow, and the news is now listing everything in creation that's closing, lol. Gosh, wonder if I should buy up all the milk and bread. Heck no, just kidding. But I can tell you one thing: I am really looking forward to that chicken with NO changes to the recipe HAHAHAHA. Carole, you and I could go on about this till the cows come home, couldn't we? This has been so funny! I tell you what, since it's snowing, let's go fix a big pot of hot chocolate, get out some games, a bunch of quilts and have a super day :D
    XOXOXO

  5. Yesterday's "freezing rain" came as rain only, so we dodged a bullet here. Light snow right now, but I don't think anything of significance. I'm waiting for this area to get pounded, since we've missed all the huge storms around us (knock on wood). Between Xmas and New Year's, I don't care! We're off and if I want to hole up in the house and drink tea and read and nap all day, I can. :-)

Take care on the roads; better yet, stay home if you can and do make yourself some hot chocolate...or a hot toddy or mulled wine!

  6. Some in other AL towns had a lot of closings, don't know if it was snow or the freezing temps. I haven't heard yet. We just got the blowing flurries, pretty.

  7. We got a light snowfall....about 2 inches...just enough to close the schools and jump the profit margins for Kroger by about 10%!
It's really hell here when it snows on Wednesdays....that's Senior Discount Day at Krogers!

  11. Snow is hitting us finally with dumps. Ugh. Lots of shoveling. For the 1st year ever we have a carport now for the car. Just taking a day off from shoveling yesterday to recuperate. Hope I make it into town Tuesday with any new snow. Like is so much quieter here now. Have a wonderful week. Hugs Carrie

  12. Awesome shots of your Finches at the feeder. Wow, you have snow as well. The temp here just went above 0C. We are getting a little melting action.

  13. Here we are having a lot of the mess here melting off...and boy is it ugly! Dirty black sludge everywhere but the ice is stubborn to leave...we were in the mid-forties today. Are you enjoying that snow over there? I like your picture very much!

  14. The snow has stopped but it's suppose to be back Wed. It's just the bone-chilling cold now. It will take 90 degree days just to warm up. lol Glad Miss Catt is on the mend. They're like kids and it hurts us just as much when they are down.

  15. We have 8 inches of the white stuff...a bit more than the .5 to 1 inch forecast. It's also quite cold...stayed in the teens all day.
I'll be there for the hot cocoa and games. Will even bring my favorite fuzzy blanket. It's Snickers favorite, too...when she sees me get it she's there almost before I'm settled. :-)
Glad Miss Catt is feeling better.

  16. Ok, Carole, here are the results of dinner: YAOZAAA! YUMMMMMMMMMMMM! The 2 of us polished off the entire mean and wished there had been more, lol. I fixed fresh green beans with this and fresh homemade yeast rolls and I might very well explode any moment but HAD to come back and tell you how great that chicken was.
Here's just a little thing I did differnt, NOT the recipe. I didn't bother with looking for a big bowl to mix it all up in, no, instead I dropped it all into a gal. size zip lock and mushed it and shook it together in there and then just dropped it out onto the baking pan. Oh, man, did that ever taste GOOD! THANK YOU!
XOXOXO (kitchen clean and not pooped and ready to call it a night, a full and good night thanks to you :D XOXOXO

  17. ....geez, that was "polished off the entire MEAL" not mean. The rest of the typos, and there are a bunch, just ignore and muddle thru, lol

  18. omg, I came back to see what I wrote and it's sooooo bad. That last sentence especially was supposed to say, "kitchen clean and NOW pooped and ready to call it a night...", NOT "not pooped".omg. Please tell me I didn't type that.I'm dying of embarrassment here.

  20. Both Toodie and Beth were talking about the cold weather and now you have snow. It's cold here but no snow yet. I do have to invest in some long underwear though.

    Ah, I've got nothing.
