Wednesday

I can't tell you how nice it was to read words of support for my 13 year old baby.  From the heart, thank you so much.

She has recovered mostly from the horrible trauma of being there away from home so long a time for the first time in her life.  She was so exhausted, truly, when she came home she slept like she was unconscious for 15 hours.  Today, she came with me quite frankly into the bathroom when I got up.  That's when I just got on the bathroom floor with her and she got the first petting and kissy love she'd had in several days.  She was purring so loud she sound like a boom box blasting.  However, she's still barely eating and as I may have said, she lost an entire pound in 36 hours.  Maybe things will normalize.

I hope to come see you too.  The boys are still here and I am still waiting on the little tyrant here.

((((HUGS)))

  2. I am crying. It's out of relief, fear, hope, and because I've been there so many times. This is all like it's happening right here in my own home, and I'm sure it's the same for all the rest of us pet lovers (especially cats). I know that bathroom floor and I know closet floors and god knows what else. Yes, that pound is a lot to lose but it was in a 3 day period and being dehydrated on top of it all, so not really unexpected. You wouldn't want her to overeat at the moment since her little bottom would pay the price. Easy does it is the way to go. But the reason I suggested the brunswick stew is not only because it's been a sure-fire great result for me, but because it's packed with veggies and a bit of salt to keep her hydrated and wanting a bit more water on her own. I have had 2 instances where there was no hope for 2 different kitties with feline respiratory disease, and this stew did the trick, much to the complete amazement of the vets. Both those vets now recommend trying that for many things. Can't hurt and worth the try. I am keeping you both in slot #1 in my prayers, Carole. I ck back here so many times a day just to see if there's any more news and will continue to do so. Great warm hugs and all prayers and love sent to you and sweet Admiral. XOXOXO

  6. Continued Light and purrs from all of us, Carole. I really hope she starts eating a bit soon -- can you syringe some baby food + water into her? What did the vet suggest? Can she get an appetite stimulant?

  11. So happy she showing improvement. I'm sure her eating will pick up. She really enjoyed your getting down on the bathroom floor with her I know. Pets are such a joy and we hurt worse emotionally than they do sometimes because they can't tell us whats bothering them and we don't know how to help them. Give her a hug for us.

  12. We've all had pets at one time or another. My family has always had cats and they have all been long lived between 15 and 20 years. Both my sisters have cats and they are about 10 years old. If you love them, take care of them and give them attention they can live a long and happy life.
Miss Catt will do just fine.
