What Would You Do For a Klondike Bar?

I had my first one today.  Did a big grocery shop and decided on some form of icecream.  I never had one of those bars in my life and I expected a mealy ol' icecream sandwich thing.  Insteead it was a bite of heavenly confection with a superior tasting chocolate coating.  I won't eat one a day..too rich but tillI I use them up..what a treat.

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, I have lost so much weight that when I decided to put on a pair of jeans..first time since the accident of course, I had planned on just waiting till my helper got here to get them snapped and zipped.  Not a problem..the were so loose I slid them down, snapped and zipped them while they lay on the bed and just pulled them up that way...already done.  It remains to be seen if I can
maintain the loss. I have got 3/4ths of the weight I gained when I quit smoking 7 or more years ago back off now.  This has not been a diet..this is a total lack of appetite to where I force myself to eat a little.

Tomorrow and Sunday will be majorly bad.  New bathroom floor--one bathroom..2 days of tearing out and replacing.  ;-(

  1. Gees, wish I'd want to eat less (and still be healthy, of course). Good for you!

Good luck re: the renos...Definitely will be messy, but worth it in the long run!

  2. Oh, Mom so agrees about Klondike Bars being really nice. That is amazing re the jeans. Maybe you will stabilize a couple of pounds more once your appetite comes back.

Now that floor project will be a challenge re certain bathroom functions - AHEM - best of luck!

  5. I've finally managed to drop some of the weight I put on when I quit smoking. It;s just too hot to cook or eat! Down 195 with 10 more lbs. to go....unless I talk THE BOSS into picking up a box of Klondike Bars.

  11. Glad you found something yummy to stimulate your appetite that you consider a real treat. I don't believe I have had one of those. I did treat my mom and I to a twister today, which is a swirl of vanilla and chocolate soft ice cream.

I hope you will be pleased with your bathroom renos and it will be worth the two days to get it done.

Take care Carole and I hope and pray you have a Blessed weekend.
    xoxo Dianne :)

  14. I am Klondike Bar addicted. It's a real effort to keep myself from buying them all the time. As Beth said, I have some poundage you can have. I need to learn to us a small plate, that may help.

  16. I love Klondike bar with nuts. It's the best. Losing weight because of lack of appetite does not sound very healthy. It's great you enjoy your Klondike bar and I hope you get good appetite for food.

Good luck with your home repairs, here's hoping that they get completed on time and you can start enjoying your new floor!

  19. I probably shouldn't tell you this ....but, here goes anyway! I buy my Klondike Bars in the Freezer section at either the Dollar General or other "Dollar Stores". Also, I like to keep them, Drumsticks, and Good Humor Bars in the freezer down here in the dungeon. However, this location is also known by my daughter and her boyfriend....so, often I get in a mood for ice cream, only to find empty boxes on the shelf!

  20. Wow! So this is what the Admiral was complaining about. I don't think I've ever had a Klondike Bar. I might have to try one.

  21. I guess that they are cheaper at the Dollar Stores.
Due to my Scotch Ancestry and frugal nature (cheap) I don't frequent Krogers or Wal-Mart Grocery. I let Kim do her "shop and gather" thing at those places.
But, I do know that those "fun size" candy bars (10 to a package) are $1 at Dollar Stores, but, are $1.89 ar Kroger even with Kroger Card.
I try to keep a good supply of them on hand down here in the dungeon. ( Almond Joy/ Mounds/ Milky Way/ Butterfingers/ 3 Musketeers/ and Snickers)

  22. Mmm, I've never heard of a klondlike bar...maybe we don't get them here? but it sounds amazing. i think i'll put in on my 'things to try before i die' list. haha.
glad to hear you're doing better. and isn't it just so much easier to put your jeans on without doing them up...i think i purposefully buy mine a size too big because i'm lazy!

  23. Our son-in-law introduced us to Klondike bars. They are yummy. I haven't bought any for a long time...might be about time to try them again. :)

Sure hope your appetite returns before you waste away to nothing.
