Well, in less than 24 hrs. I have had some improvement.  With the new cast, short arm cast, I am now able to albeit painfully, straighten my arm again.  I am trying to toughen it up in baby steps.  Next, I can now touch my forefinger to my thumb.  First time.  I am working to make a fist with the other fingers.

Best news is, the orthopedic doctor said the cellulitis is gone.  My primary care doctor didn't think so but he assures me it is.  So no more concerns there, but my knee is still swollen and he said one needs to work it out. No drainage needed as it is blood.

I was taken out and treated to lunch. Loved that but I did a drama queen thing. As I have zip appetite I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks..so I decided to eat that little lunch I chose.  Soon thereafter, I came close to fainting.  Very embarrassing. I didn't but I felt it coming on.  Too much food on a caved in belleh ;-)

Hoping to continue to strengthen and working on eating more.

  2. Things sound better and better. We know it is a long haul, but every bit you improve can help your outlook and the time till you are fully better is decreasing.

The loss of appetite may have been from the antibiotics, so hopefully that will change when you don't have to take them any more. But I am sure the vet could force some appetite stimulants down your throat if need be!

  6. Happy you're doing better. Baby steps are best. Pushing yourself too hard makes you fall on your rear end....at least that's what happens to me and I have become most proficient in shielding the camera from damage before I land.

  12. Glad to hear you're on the mend. At least you saved yourself the embarrassment by not actually fainting. I remember my first day of high school, when I fainted from the heat and the nerves...well, at least everyone knew who I was by the time I got to class!!
    Get well soon :) xx

  13. It sounds like your healing progress is...well progressing. Time and patience will do the trick.
I have missed your comments Carole but I certainly understand why you have been absent.
I once fainted at my own kitchen table. A friend dropped by just as I was begining my evening meal. I hadn't eaten a thing all day (not recomended) and fell out of my chair after the first mouthful. I was fortunate to only have a small scratch on my forehead. Ya gottah eat!
