Rainy day in TN

It's raining again but then, we have been getting at least 2 days worth every week..so this is right on schedule.

Headed out to join the gang, both working and not for some fun and loud talking.  The loud talking is the best part. :-)))  I'll have to go work out later.

I hear more woodpeckers out there this morning than anyone else.  Some nuthatches too and some finches but woodpeckers are predominant.  As long as I can I will feed the birds.  I saw a Ladder Back woodpecker on the ground eating under the feeder.  That was the first time I have seen a woodpecker eating on the ground.

I was saying in my WP blog that these 6 weeks so far of working out have brought back the muscles in my right arm and the wrist that was broken and encased so long in the casts. VERY glad about that!  I don't like having a soft arm with no muscle tone.  Wanna arm wrestle?  I think I'm up for it.

Getting ready to put the final touches on to go on out.  Wish you were coming too. You'd have fun.  Especially my WI girls up there.  You all know how to have laughs and fun!  xox

  3. It's been in the twenties for days here and that seems to be continuing today. I'm just glad that the howling wind has abated...that just makes it much colder. I have consistently lifted weights for many years now but don't know how my arm wrestling skills are...by me a plane ticket and I might be willing to head over and find out!

  7. Hmmm - I'll pass on the arm wrestling because you'd have me pinned down in a second. So happy the exercising is paying off for you. Cold, windy and dreary here today, but we did get out this morning and got more shopping done. I suspect snow will come next week as we're too lucky now to be into December with no snow on the ground. Sit tight - I'm joining you for lunch!!

  9. I think the woodpecker you saw eating on the ground is actually called a goundpecker. A distant cousin. I saw it on a PBS special. They also covered the nutcatches, mentioning how nasty they could. Ok. I admit it I made it all up. It's late. I'm tired and I have to go to sle......

  13. Where I used to live, I had all those birds you mention above. Now I live much closer to the sea, so it's gulls, gulls and oh ..gulls! We do get the odd buzzard and carrions. It's blowing a gale here today, was nearly blown away this morning!! BTW just love your header; promises of spring :)
