Brand New Week Coming

Well, a brand new week will be here in a few hours and to finish this one off,  once again someone tried to back into me.  That's twice in a week.  Maybe this new week will be better.  I had to blow the horn hoping to get their attention as they accelerated back toward me, never looking.  This time it was at a gas station so I would have been able to move unlike the time in the grocery store parking lot that I told you about last time.  Then I had to lay on the horn and the ol' buzzard driving finally noticed.

It seems not only me but many others I have talked to or even listened to speak of this sort of thing.  Many people old or young, it doesn't matter drive with nothing but thought for themselves and don't look.  I have blogged several times about the drivers who look in the direction the are going and refuse to look back at the on-coming traffic and cause you to almost stand your car on end trying to avoid a collision.  They just sail merrily on, apparently confident that the world will continue to look out for them.

Oh well.  Made it home in one piece again so after venting here about it, I'll quit.

Quite chilly.  Only got to mid 50's today.  It was warmer in January and February really.

So, how's you all?

  1. I am so glad you mentioned that young drivers don't pay attention either. Usually it is the older drivers that get all of the blame.

Chilly here too, in the 30s again tonight.

  3. People really should pay more attention to what they're doing! If you're going to be in a charge of a car, you should at least have some consideration for other people on the roads. My older sister just passed her driving test this morning, and while she is sensible behind the wheel, it is inconsiderate and unobservant people who don't look where they're going who make the roads dangerous for everyone!

I'm glad you managed to make it home all in one piece, and hopefully it won't happen again!

The weather is getting colder here. We've even had some heavy rain this week, which was actually quite exciting because it's been so long since the last time it really poured like that xx

  4. Mario's mom here - people seem to be so inconsiderate these days and rules nearly gone by the wayside. Someone ran a red light yesterday and would have gotten us if Don had been one of those with his foot on the gas ready for an early takeoff. Very scary.

  5. Well, I'm glad I don't have a vehicle. LOL.

It's been snowing here this morning. I'm wearing long johns, Carole. I'm *trying* to be upbeat about this Monday, but it's tough. LOL.

  6. It is frustrating isn't it. You can see where some get road rage. Glad you finally got his attention. Bit nippy here too.

  7. Oh yeah! Well your drivers got nothin' on our drivers! Boston area drivers are notoriously rude or in their own little world or both! This is not a badge of honor though. Some of it is because because of the screwy road set up in a cramped little big city. Getting around can be quite vexing sometimes. It's not everybody though and it's certainly not me...GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU STUPID SONOVA...oh sorry! It's harder than I thought to text while driving. Why don't people understand that?

  8. My old driving instructor always talked about defensive driving...well, he's right in that it's war out there on the road and certainly in parking lots! I'm glad you got through it unscathed. It's going to hit almost ninety today for us which I am stunned to see. Word has it we'll drop down again come Friday but I'm hoping not...I could get used to this!

  9. I know it’s more dangerous in a car, but people also do that not looking thing in the supermarket . Ever seen trolley rage? Glad you’re ok, Carole xx

  12. Greetings to you again Wonderful.... :o)
Luckily I drive expecting people to do stupid stuff. When I taught my daughter to drive I repeatedly emphasized that every single time she went out on the road she'd see at least one dumb act, at least one opportunity for her to have gotten into an accident had she not allowed room for others to do dumb things and/or not been paying attention. I've been driving for so long that I stay wary constantly, adapt, and then forget about it, almost without thinking. But when I was teaching her, when I was in the passenger's seat focusing on the acts of other drivers, I was actually amazed at how many dumb moves I saw every time we wet on a drive.
Most of the time accidents are avoided because the rest of us sane drivers are paying attention and get out of the way!
