Still Here..Sorta

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and I hope for a good New Year  for all of us.

We are still not back to so-called "normal operations" here but maybe by this time next month we will be or at least closer than we are now.

Went to Wally World to get a new DVD/Blue Ray player as my old 15 years old DVD/VHS player finally died.  So, that's hooked up now.  But while there of ALL things on December 26th, there was an Easter Candy display!  Can you believe it?  Easter... and  the day after Christmas they get started.  May as well start 4th of July paraphernalia with it in January, ya think?

My car died again.  Check Engine light came on.  Waited a couple of days before I could get it to the garage as it was the 24th and the 25th of December and they were closed.  So..got it there and had to have it towed as it refused to start for whatever reason.  $$'s.  Turned out to be the oxygen sensor.  $288.00 later I have the car back.  If I "got took" please don't tell me.

Just checking in.  Miss you all and see you off and on as I get things done here.  <3

  2. Mom says they had to have an oxygen sensor done on one of their cars. Part of the nuisance of "better" cars, right? In the "old days" nobody cared how cleanly the fuel was being used.

Hope your Christmas was good, or at least "OK".

  3. Cars are ridiculous sometimes. We take one in for one thing, and sometimes 'they' find 10 other things 'wrong.' I like to have my husband do it, though most of the time i'm an independent woman. I always feel like i'm being taken if i do it myself. And if there is really something wrong, and the mechanic tells me so, i don't believe him... I'm glad things seem to be improving there!

  4. Yikes - Katie girl has a hot new car! Mario is going to be very envious! I've always said cars are the work of the devil. They are impossible money hogs. But, you can't be without a dependable one either. Hope things continue to improve for you.

  5. I've never had an oxygen sensor go bad and I'm no mechanic, so I wouldn't know if you got a good deal anyway. It makes me wonder though. I kind of assume there is plenty of oxygen around, and if there isn't, the car won't be my biggest problem LOL! ~ Mark

  6. Boy, oh boy. The house and the car this year! Seems they're just like us: after a few years, the wear and tear starts to show :-)

Hope this is the last thing that needs fixing for a long while. You (and your pocket) need a break! Thanks for checking in. Hope that the new year brings a fresh start.

  10. Sorry to hear about the car.:-(

Easter is early in 2013, probably in about three months. I don't think any candy, if bought at this early date, would even be around here by the time Easter would arrive.:-)

    Have a good Thursday!

  12. I begin to long for something normal once the holidays pass too my friend. Today we haul the boxes and paper out for the garbage man. I was hoping for a 'normal' New Year celebration where we'd celebrate our youngest daughter's b-day but Lovely has a wedding photo shoot and we all have to go...sigh. I do hope the car is going to work for you...I absolutely hate that don't you? Our last ordeal was a timing belt and some other major maintenance. Chin up my friend.

  13. Cute Katie looks so in charge in her red car... Sorry about your car trouble. I hope the new year is better to you. We were in Wally world's last night and saw the shelf clearing. I figured it was for Valentine's day. Easter stuff is way too early though.

  16. Happy 2013 Sis..glad to have any kind of update from you..glad to know you are okay and things are at least moving some..sorry to hear about the car. The newer ones have all kinds of bells and stuff no one knows about and the way to fix them costs more than the parts do. Oh progress how we HATE thee sometimes. Hope you have a good week. Hugs and we miss you..
