State Trooper

So, I am in a public transportation vehicle with my son coming back from an appointment in the big city.  I hear the horn of our big van being blown.  It's our young driver blowing the van's horn.  I hear him do that again and finally I saw there was a Jeep along side.  Our van surged forward a bit and I saw the driver and why our van driver was blowing the horn and using his hands in a sort of typing motion.

In the farthest left lane against the concrete barrier on the Interstate was a State Trooper busily TEXTING away with BOTH hands, steering with his elbows.  Yup.  It's true.  Our driver was gesturing to the Trooper that he could see the Trooper texting illegally.  The trooper sped up in his "I will catch you all out here doing something wrong because I am in an old beat up Jeep and you'll never know it's Police behind you".  That was just wrong!  Texting away with his eyes on the phone and steering that near to people and the barrier.

I am exhausted and my back is killing me but I wouldn't have it any other way.  <3<3<3

  1. Unbelievable. It is getting less and less safe to be on the roads with people either on their cellphone or something worse.

  3. Oh boy you sore spot with me. I'm not against texting. I can see it's use but I think people are so distracted by silly little messages sent back and forth. It's worse than people talking on the phone. I see it at work all the time. Both customers and employees. It's distracting and very annoying.
A cop driving with his elbows. How stupid and dangerous.

  4. You could have all been killed, the trooper included. I can't understand why people text and drive.

I would make you and your son a cherry cobbler if I lived close by!!

  5. Just stopping by to say hello Carole. I haven't been on my computer too often these days. Been taking a break.

I wonder what would have happened if you had taken a photo of the trooper driving with his elbows. That is totally ridiculous. And rest assure if it were you, you would be getting a ticket and fined as one should. It gets pretty scary on the highways these days. So many innocent lives being taken by such carelessness.

Hope to find you , Katie and your family doing well. Have a good night and rest of the week.
    Hugs, Dianne :)

  7. Everyone does wrong things, but when the people supposed to enforce those things do them, that is really bad.

  9. They should be able to put some kind of a LOCK on you phones so you can't text at all in a car or vehicle when it's moving. With all the technology out there, they should be able to do this and save us all from stupid drivers. So glad YOU made it home OK and no one was hurt or killed (that you know of!). I really believe in "what goes around, comes around" and know he'll get his.

  13. Yikes. You could have been in an accident and that's all your son needs after going through all he has gone through. That guy should have his badge taken away!
