Just Curious...Only Wondering...

What is this thing of the past two years or so..perhaps longer whereupon it is THE thing to wear shorts, flip-flops and a muscle shirt (or shell if you are female) and that's it out there in below 40 degree temperature.  I see it when it's in the 30's or 20's as well.  What is UP with that?  I just want to understand why a person would want to dress for 100 degree heat in the dead of winter out there walking in the streets, going to stores and etc.  You KNOW they are cold.

I think really I have noticed it for longer than that.  I recall one woman way back a good fifteen years ago now I think of it..just the one person, who, on a snowy day was wearing short shorts, flip flops and a coat!  At least she had a jacket on but the rest of her...oh my goodness.  You know that was cold.

Last night on Twitter I had some auto corrects that were down right hilarious.  I didn't even know it until those I happened to be speaking to (you know what I mean..writing to) pointed them out with a LOT of poking fun at me.  My belly hurt from laughing at those mistakes and I had tears in my eyes I laughed so hard.  It was fun.

If I am going to work out, I need to assemble my face.  See you when I get back.  xo

My dear Sis from Australia, Michiko, sent me this and I got it yesterday.  I have something beautiful to drink my cherry tea from now.  Thank you dear Sis.  XXOOXX <3

  3. And I thought I was the only one who could spot them on the streets, because it certainly doesn't seen to be seen by others!

  4. I've seen adults indulge in such clothing before...even here where the cold is so bitter...this year it's been mostly teens...no I don't get it. I've seen pages dedicated to auto-correct fails...they are funny! Wonderful gift from Michiko! I've not heard from her in some time.

  5. Beautiful gift! And yes i see that exact thing here. Strange it is. Yesterday i saw a woman out running in a tank top and short shorts. But at least she had running shoes on. It was 45 degrees and pouring rain.

  6. To wear or not to wear, that is the assembly question.

  7. What a wonderful gift from your sister. I don't know what is up with people dressing that way. I saw someone in short shorts the other day and a short mid baring top. And- it is not just kids dressing that way. This gal was well into her 30's. Crazy I tell ya- xo Diana

  8. Oh Carole, that gift from your special friend is gorgeous. Thanks for posting it so we could share in the beauty. Ah yes, people running around half naked on cold days. I see the same here in the frozen north land. I don't get it either quite frankly. Maybe we need to be 19 again to fully understand it. NOT!!

  9. The gift from Michiko is gorgeous!!
My mailman wears shorts. He had them on yesterday with his jacket and hat. I think he must have one pair of shorts and one of long pants because he switches back and for.

  11. TBT here: When I was 14-18, my body was burning hot. I ran fast at soccer and long-distance-running in high school to cool down. My parents could not understand how much I ate. I would have "thirds" on spaghetti night and 3 glasses of milk just to keep from starving. I was ALWAYS hungry. I could eat a 12" sub for lunch and look around for more food. I could have sucked down pure fat and not gained weight.

My friends and I ran around all day after school team practices bursting with energy. We were SCREAMING for release. We played brutal tackle neighborhood football pounding each other in all games we could think of. Tackle football was almost "passive". Had I been a larger teenager, I would have played the varsity sports with the crazed coaches who pushed one to the utter edge of using up energy.

But I played soccer. And that was great. The Junior Varsity football players all came out to join. 6' tall and 180-200 pounds. They couldn't keep up with us smaller guys burning up inside. And when they all learned there there isn't much padding in soccer, they all left, limping away.

In spite of all that, at 18, I was still only 5' 6" and only 125 pounds. I was eating nearly 4,000 calories a day and hungry all the time...

We don't understand people who dress in summer clothes during cold weather, either...

  18. Oh Sis the cup is so beautiful..many hours you will enjoy it and think of her. I do hope some people come to their senses soon. It amazes me the HEAT that some people must have inside their bodies to dress like that. LOL Love the photo up there of the curdly sky..looks beautiful and rain probably followed it. Take care :-)

  20. Michiko really sent a lovely gift. I've seen them too. Know one guy who wears shorts all year long. On the other hand, knew a lady who used to live next door to us who wore long sleeve wool shirts and jeans all year no matter how hot is was.

  21. I don't get it either. Maybe it's a psychological refusal to admit it is winter. LOL! :)
