AWARD! YES!

I got an award!  YES!  From Annie of McGuffy's Reader!   Now that's great, as this blog never gets awards since I left MSN Live Spaces a hundred years ago!  Thank you my sweet friend.  It is the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.

If I remember, aside from thanking and recognizing the dear friend who gifted me with this award, I am to answer ten things about myself.

Oh, My.

Oh my, I am going to bust wide open.  WIDE OPEN!  We ate too much.

It was a wonderful Christmas with our new family member here as well.  All three sons, a daughter- in- law, Katie Isabella and me.  Everyone loved their presents and certainly so did I.  I got a pair of Iolite earrings from my oldest.  A wonderful DVD, some WWll things, I collect them.  I even have some ration coupons.  I got quite a few things and I am truly grateful.

But I wanted you to know what the oldest gifted me with.  He will still be here for several more weeks I would say.

I hope all of you had the best of days...I hope before things got hectic that you had a few quiet moments to yourselves just to reflect on the meaning of the day.

Oh, and we have NY Cheesecake and pumpkin pie for dessert.  And I was gifted with Lindor Truffles among other things.  O. MY. BELLY.

That bully flower is Bee Balm.  He sure is mean looking, ain't he?

Here is a twisted tower of Krystal boxes WITH FLYING BUTTRESSES I might add!  My son from over the mountains constructed it at Krystal's yesterday.

Bully!

I found this flower bully in a garden during the summer.

LOOK at that menacing face.  That frightening open mouth, fangs!!  and those jaws!  That hair!  Those piercing eyes!  I took a great risk approaching him and snapped the picture and ran for my life!

The Week Keeps Going Faster...

Goodness, time flies when things are good or bad.  They are good here at our home.  My son has progressed wonderfully.  Christmas preparations are made insofar as presents are wrapped & etc.  Food is purchased and ready to make for Christmas dinner.  We eat lunch time really.  I may re-negotiate that with the boys and DIL.  Christmas evening will be easier for me considering all I have to do above the dinner preparations.  I will be pressed for time with a noon meal.

Katie's blog will tell you the kind of night *I* had after midnight..sigh.

Meanwhile, I am about to go in and get the bacon out to cook so that my son can have some with his oatmeal.  My mother used to do that.  Give us kids bacon with  oatmeal, butter and a bit of sugar too, and crumbled bacon in it as well.  The nectar of breakfasts!

See you over at your place..xo

Cloud Fan

I will tell you what.  I about wanted to stop the car on some side street during rush hour to take a picture if only with my iPhone, of the cirrus clouds.  OH what a glorious sky it was as we hurtled back home from the Big City! I will put these from a stop light in.  Naturally they are full of wires and poles but you, excuse the pun, get the picture.

OH how gorgeous.  I wish I could have pulled off the road but I would never have gotten back into the stream of traffic easily.

xox  PS Thanks for bearing with me these days.

Tuesday With Sun. Wonder of Wonders!

Rain, snow, sleet, ice and rain.  SO far in this town it has been rain unceasingly.  But now there is a bit of sun to cheer one.  Busy to the nth degree but got time to do my hair.

We have appointments of one sort or another each day either here in the house or off to The Big City. Tomorrow it is both.  :-)

Son had the staples that were put in on the 19th November taken yesterday.  What a beautiful incision line done by a master surgeon.  He did wonderful work and we seem to be good to go here once he recovers.  I have much to be grateful for both last year and this one.  It is my privilege to serve.

I still need to get some Christmas presents.  Not sure how or when.  May be some IOU's handed out.  I have some but they are not wrapped.  Wish someone else would do it this time.  BUT:  If that is the worst of my problems, the proverbial response is right.  I have it made.

Thank you from my heart for well wishes and those of you who prayed for us.  I will never find the words to express my gladness and appreciation-- but one day you will know, when we are all telling our lives and deeds as we finish this gift of life we have.  You did a fine thing and I am deeply grateful to you each and all.

This little guy' picture was taken at a happy time  a few months ago when I got to visit my son over the mountains.  He was on my son's house.  Hope you like him.

Goodness Me

Good title for me today really.  Goodness and mercy have found me every day.  The part I feel bad about is the knowledge that many (most) times I didn't and don't recognize that goodness and mercy, no-- not even when it hits me on the head in a manner of speaking.

We tend to try to direct what the good things will be and what they will be like And how they will affect us, and most of all what those good things will be!  That is human nature, more is the shame.  For me, it takes a lot of growth inwardly, spiritually.  For others it is their own choices.

We don't get to direct how things are to be done when they are beyond our control.  We think we do...we spin our wheels and bend and twist things until they approximate what we think goodness and mercy should be in our lives.  It's hard not to try to be in control.  Harder still to realize that you are not nor ever were.  :-)

Goodness me, I stopped that type of thinking some time ago.  Now, I open my eyes and mind and listen.  So, with that all being said and boring all of you I will close the topic.

I just wanted to say that my oldest son seems to be progressing well enough at this time.  I am to-the-core grateful.
