Oh fer pete sake!

Here it was a wonderful non humid day at 83 degrees yesterday and in the 70's the two days previous and now...now...a freeze warning.  Rain to beat the band this morning and while it is still cloudy at the moment no rain.  Tomorrow however that will change and the ever present winds we have had this past week will still be there.  Snow in the Plateau and maybe a tad of it here where we are.  GIVE US A BREAK!!!  UNCLE!  AUNT!  Whoever you want. QUIT with the freezing temps but especially the snow!  And why do you always snow on the several days every few weeks that I MUST make a trip to the city?

Anyway, just saying'.

Two of my sons and the wife of one of them are at the Outer Banks in NC again.  I hope to see some great pictures when they return.  This is the Spring break of one of them.  Me...I did get out with the camera this weekend and that made me smile.  I didn't get much and the wind was blowing like a hurricane so the flowers were always in a tizzy.  I did the best I could to catch a shot in between vast movement brought about by gusts of wind.

Oh, I am fuller than a tick again.  I had a very early supper as I had no lunch and I was hungry.  One of the things I had was a baked potato.  I just add better and salt.  But that and the fish and veggie were enough to bust me wide open. *groan*.

I may change the header today with my red dogwoods.  :-)

  1. Yeah, the weather is so strange, too. We're supposed to be hit with tons of rain beginning tonight THROUGH tomorrow night and strong storms; but it's like I said to Beth, then again there's the small matter of our local weathermen, hahaha. But yes, talking about a freeze tomorrow night, ICK.

LOVE the red dogwoods, Carole! I've never seen red ones in my life and they are beautiful!

  4. I just had to go look up red dogwoods and see what they were called, and found this:
"The most common color for dogwood blooms is white but this can vary from species to species. The aurora dogwood (Cornus x “Rutban”) has creamy white blooms with a velvety texture. Their petals overlap one another and can hide the green foliage in the spring. The pink Japanese dogwood (Cornus kousa “Satomi”) produces delicate blooms in hues of pink. The fragrant blooms of the pagoda dogwood (Cornus alternifolia) are yellowish white, which give way to bluish, almost black berries. The “Cherokee Chief” dogwood (Cornus florida “Cherokee Chief”) produces blooms that range in color from red to rosy pink."

So you have a Cherokee Chief! Fascinating!

  7. I heard on the radio "freeze warning" and I thought I somehow heard it wrong. But no, it's real! How crazy. Your dogwood flowers are beautiful. I see them here a lot but usually pink or white. I don't think I've seen red around here. It's really beautiful!

  10. The weather here is wet more or less, so wet that I didn't go for a walk this morning because it was raining and I didn't want to walk in the rain but it is not that cold yet

  11. The dogwoods are beautiful! That baked potato sounds so good. I love them too with just some butter and Morton's Nature Seasonings on it. The photos from NC sound like they'll be really good.
Enjoy, and hugs to you :-)

  12. Here in MD, I saw snowflakes briefly just a few minutes ago. It won't last; the ground and air is too warm.. But to get even THAT on April 15 is astonishing. I have never seen a snowflake in April before.
