Oh, Fer Pete Sake!

An ice storm.  Woo Hoo.  They said snow...for four days.  They said 1-3 inches, then they said 12 inches, then the said 3 inches, then they said maybe ice of 1/10th of an inch.  Then they said 4 inches of snow with sleet and ice of one half inch thickness.  They said it would start Saturday night.  Changed it to over Sunday night.  Then they said it would start at noon Monday, today.

Well, the ice started at 0830 as I went to get just a little extra cat food for Katie as this stuff, snow and ice is to continue thru till late Saturday, so they say.

The temps will be bad.  That won't help us as the ice can't melt.  It will be single digits and some -0 temps as well.  So, we'll see.

My daughter-in-law is having a baby shower Saturday here in town.  I hope she and I can get to it.  There will be a huge turnout.  Christi is blessed with many many many friends.

I have Katie's PBS shows on.  She loves Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and the Dinosaur Train and Tommy Train too.  She actually watches.

MY poor daffodils and hyacinths will be coated with ice. Jonquils are blooming I am sad to say and have been since last January.  Daffodils are still blades coming up from the ground but the hyacinths have produced flower bracts.

Did you watch NBC's SNL last night?  I laughed a lot as I loved the old stuff they showed clips of or re-enacted with the same starts if able, meaning if they were alive and there.
Paul McCartney probably should have just made a smile and a bow.  He was terrible.  It;s his frail with age voice and the cracks as he hit some higher notes.  Sometimes we have to know that our day came and we were good.  But time passes for everyone if we are lucky.

Just talking'.  Hope it's better where you are except you Paul.  Bless your hearts there in Boston.

  1. Haha, weather forecast keeps changing here as well. But it sure will be very cold this week. I hope the baby shower will be held with no bad weather interruption.
Poor flowers of yours. I hope they'll get through cold temperature this week.

  2. Sounds like a rotten weather forecast. Here's to hopping the weather guessers are very wrong. In the right direction!

I also thought Paul was pretty bad last night. He should have played the piano and lip synced

  3. Oh- I missed SNL last night. I loved the old shows they did. Poor Paul-sorry to hear he is losing his voice. What a talent he had-they all had.

My son used to rent a condo in a building that had 3 weathermen that roomed together. They said if they had the weather right 47% of the time they were considered GOOD. Glad they aren't doctors! xo Diana

  5. We're doing okay despite it all Carole. I thought I had set my DVR to record it but that's what I get for having my evil twin set the DVR.
Flowers? I'm not really sure where you live. We won't see the ground until April, hopefully.

  8. Ahhh, you've been bewildered by the prognosticators, as have I....they all disagree with each other, and then they change their forecasts SO OFTEN!!! We have about an inch of sleet and yuck on the ground right now....hoping for sunshine tomorrow to melt it away! Stay warm!

  9. We have had the same insane twist and turn forecasts (which continue, because no one is really sure what is going to happen Wednesday/Thursday when the "Arctic Blast" makes its way south. All told, we got 5.25" of snow (forecast to have 1") and everything closed down today. Snow day! Yay! I made a quilt! xoxo

  12. Wow..hope your power stays on. I hate ice and that does such damage for sure. Winter you just never know where it is going to hit or when. I saw the reports about Memphis to Nashville and thought of you immediately. Poor people have to deal with what they are not used to. Stay well and warm dear Sis.

  14. Here in Washington DC, we are on a climate borderline, so the forecasts fluctuate with every breeze. Sometimes it's "Dear Weatherman, I just shovelled a foot of 'partly cloudy' off my driveway"! So, I know how frustrating the changes can be, LOL.
