A Little Tuna With That Celery?

A friend of mine was telling me she was going to have a tuna sandwich after we talked.  That set up a longing and a mouth watering for me as I love tuna salad.  BUT I make mine (for me when no one else is involved) differently.

For me, when it is just for me, I use water packed tuna of course, and of the better type if there is such a thing realistically.  I drain it, add maybe a teaspoon of sweet  pickle relish and maybe a tablespoon of light mayo...some black pepper, and then, just for me at least THREE stalks of chopped celery.  All that celery with 6 oz or whatever it is, of tuna.  I pile it on as high as it will go onto a piece of wheat bread, top that extremely lumpy mountain with the other slice, cut diagonally and tear into it.  For other people were they with me, I would not do that.  I would probably ask if it is alright to add a bit of celery.

I am getting a new computer today sometime or there.  I checked the tracking and it is out for delivery.  This one is four years old and while good still it has become slower as the operating system is not lending itself to updates any longer.  Oh I get other updates but not the ones that would come with a current operating system.  It's all good but with 7000 pictures on here, that doesn't help I imagine.

(No, they aren't all of Katie tempting as it would be to think...Admiral either).

Here's an extra view of a former topic here.  I took two pictures of that model plane in a Charlotte consignment store.  I LOVE that place!

  4. Dearest Carole,
Oh, you are a smart lady for trying to find the better quality of tuna. Costco surprisingly did have the Albacore Tuna and eating that with lots of celery as a natural diuretic is healthy and tasty. I would opt for your version right away!
We had two days in a row, day before yesterday and yesterday where we went with 3 of the 4 siblings to the Vet for the 3-year rabies shot.
Pieter is left with a bleeding lip and mouth corner where Spunky (the sweetest of the siblings) hit him hard when he wanted to pluck her off the retainer all after she ate supper. To cuddle her and ask for forgiveness for putting her inside that dreaded wicker basket... She didn't even think but smack dab hit him.
Spooky, their brother we can't even think about putting him inside that basket. He's been hit by somebody, had a wound above his eye several years ago and growled at the late neighbor when he was with us on the wood trail... Aha, that explained a lot and guess he hit him. So we dare to take the risk of contracting some diseases instead of such trauma. He's so sweet and close to us, we don't want to risk turning him away.
    Life is never easy.
On top of that I'm again dealing with having Dad in the hospital in The Netherlands. Did stay up till 2:00 AM in order to call him at home. He was home for one week but did sound so weak and exhausted. My youngest sister did see him after I Skyped her and she called the ambulance. He's far safer in the hospital where they monitor him. He was so afraid of having a fatal heart attack... not daring to sleep.
    Hugs and blessings,
    Mariette

  12. Bet that tuna sammy way dee-li-shus! And you have to cut it on the diagonal so it doesn't come undone. Hope your new computer arrived safely and is running like a top!

  13. I want that plane.
I'm not fond of celery in my tuna and it has to the light tuna packed in water. I like the relish idea though.
Don't by the pre-made tuna salad from your local deli. It's always soupy with mayo and they use the dark tuna. It tastes particularly awful.

  14. Just arrived here from the Itty, Bitty, Kitty Committee. Greetings from Montreal! You know what? That's exactly what I put in my tuna salad (the relish and the celery). And when I'm out of celeri,I substitute with celery seeds (not celery salt), just to have that flavor in it.

  15. I'm not a fan of tuna. But if you replace that with chicken breast, I'm in. And the best thing is the homegrown celery which is almost all stronger-tasting leaves.
