Another Edition of Good Grief!

Good grief!  I asked to speak to the Manager of the local Wally World store.  I had that opportunity and complained that I have been unable for 5...count 'em...5 weeks to reach the flavored waters..only 4  6 pks. left all that time and unreachable.  WAY back on a shelf too high for most of we mortals. I asked when water might be available and if so, could a person reach it.  I also pointed out that the canned goods are so sparse in some categories that there are bare shelves about 5 feet in width here and there in the store.  I told her of the very poor variety of  any type of frozen meals..I like Cafe Steamers.  Just a few varieties available..all of which I don't care for.  I went on about other bare shelves and freezer space as in today, when I wanted frozen veggies, there were just 3 bags of frozen carrots and only their brand--- and 1 bag of frozen green beans, again, only their brand.  This has been going on for months!

Her explanation?  They can't get shipments due to "the hurricane".  I asked WHAT hurricane as none have been reported in many months and of course we don't get them inland in my State.  She said the ports were closed and the trucks can't get their shipments.  I thought "what planet do you think I am from, Lady"?  No other store in town is like that and I wish I had had the presence of mind to say so to her.

That's it for my quarterly (or daily sometimes) edition of Good Grief!  Brought to you by Odd managers, Inc.

Here's a flower gift for that imaginative Manager at Wally's.

  1. I certainly hope she didn't roll her eyes at you! I would have gone crazy mad if someone did that to me!

  2. That is ridiculous. You should go higher than the local manager, not sure how to find out who to contact though.

  4. If other stores can get product in you'd think they could. That's nuts!

  5. siwwy siwwy manager. She must have gone to college and got a degree in drama, and you know what job opportunities are available for that degree. My daughters friend has a degree in drama..... job opportunities a plenty. not.
    We have two Walmarts.
When I can not reach stuff, I climb up the shelves. Many tall people are helpful. I always help people that can't reach things. You could walk over to the pharmacy and get one of the canes and use it to pull down items, or you could go to the house wears department the minute you enter the store and get a mop for reaching. then just ditch it in the shoe section before you must leave.
I have plenty of other ideas
    Have s fun day.

  6. You should write a letter to the President of Walmart.
I forget his name but he used to be on Fox all the time. Or just write a letter to Neil Cavuto. If you do that you might have to make up something about not being able to reach sugary snacks though

  7. Complain to the company headquarters, or the district manager. Headquarters will only see lost money, and that will cause them to come down on the local manager. Local complaints rarely go anywhere, because the local manager knows they stop with her.

  8. Doesn't it suck when we think of a perfect response after the fact, you wonder how stupid some people think we are

  9. One of the grocery stores I go has plenty of supply, but often with expired products! I ate my favorite chocolate which tasted a bit different. Turned out it had expired six months ago. Good grief!

  11. Seriously? Wow...I might have believed that a snow storm may have slowed down deliveries but I'm positive ports are not closed. Besides, unless the products are being delivered from China, not locally, then the ports have nothing to do with it. I'd be a little worried the store is in the process of shutting down.

    Good grief indeed!

    1. Guys, it's Walmart. The said a HURRICANE! Please. As I told her there were none for months and months and OTHER stores had plenty. So it was a dumb excuse for whatever failing on their part.
