Toesie

In this case, MY toesies.  Little pink ones.

I have been stubbing my toes several times a day as I go about the house.  Good grief.  You'd think I could make it over onto the hard mat that shields the carpet from the office chair.  But Noooooooo.  Or walking thru the kitchen and  always stubbing my toesie on the scatter rug in front of the sink.  They don't move as they are well "rubberized" on the reverse but man, I need a lesson in picking up my feets apparently.  And knocking the door jamb with my very pointy bony elbow bone!  OW!  Dang that hurts, not to mention whapping my left elbow into the little wood cabinet that is just at the wrong place on the wall, as I face the sink and medicine chest, to keep me out of contact with it every day for pete sake.  It's placed just right to keep me IN contact with it.  (tiny bathroom).

I don't even want to say how many times thru the years I have accidentally bonked the side of my head getting into the car.  And I am just a short pencil stub!  5'2". How can I do that?  But at least once a year I do.

  1. Excuse me for laughing, stubbing toesies is NOT funny. But, YOU ARE! The way you describe this has me giggling out loud over here. Jace (sitting here next to me) looks at me as if..."MiMi what's so funny"?

I hear ya' though. I had to get me a "new way to walk" because of some of the same stuff.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, dear friend!

  2. I get you. It seems I have a bruise somewhere all the time for hitting something because I don't pay attention to how close I am. Then again there is the puppy bruises from the 13 lb. Shis tzu that thinks I'm his launching pad, lol.

  4. Well, at least you know where your bruises are coming from. I'll be undressing at night and thinking wth did that bruise come from? I don't remember hitting anything but I must have (I've seen bruising from broken blood vessels and these aren't the same).

I will admit, I giggled at bit at your description. Sorry!

  5. Ouch, stubbing toes is not fun! I often hit my thigh on the corner of furniture, causing bruises. I bonk my head getting into the car as well. You are not alone lol.

  6. I am running into things more and more these days, dropping things, bumping elbows and toes... My coordination is going as I age, I think.

  9. Dearest Carole,
Well, we all are prone to that I'm afraid... not specifically the toes but other parts.
Ran into the corner of a table in the breakfast room of our B&B in VA... looks bad, a huge bump! Got a few more bumps, from the bike...
But we're still alive and it will heal. I seem to bruise easily in my later years.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
