Tempus Fugit ... That's for Sure.

Well, here is is, may as well say February.  The hot sweaty days of summer will be upon us before we can turn around twice.  Two more turns around and it'll be winter again.

If I get more than a few days to have time for the house and me as well, I want to go out with a new pair of binoculars.  I was gifted with a pair of Nikon binoculars and it's been raining since except  the day before yesterday.  I was super busy back and forthing that day following so I haven't used them yet. .  In another 2 weeks I hope to have a decent number of days strung out so that I can make some pleasant plans.   Come on along if you want to.  We'll take binoculars (you can borrow mine) and go birding...or watching abundant wildlife.   And we can take our cameras and look for some worthy landscapes.  If you have a close up lens too, let's do some macros.  I love those.

I am eating an all veggie supper.  Wouldn't you know it's all carbs.  Love 'em.  My blueprint I was made from must have had carbs built in.  I am not a pasta person AT all...so those carbs are safe from me.  But make it a carb type veggie and I'm all over it.

I used to make the best whole wheat bread.  From scratch of course.  I can no longer find my recipe so haven't made it in a long time.  The kids called it "Taste Good" when they were single digits in ages.  They wanted an inch thick slice with butter..or even peanut butter, and honey on it.  OH it was good.  I let it rise on the stove top..punch it down..etc etc.  and I usually baked two loaves at a time.  Had a young girl friend..12 years younger than I, and I was still a spring chicken..and she taught me how to do it.  She brought over all her stuff and made some so I could see how.  Then made me go out and buy all the things and do it myself the next day.  Made it for along time until I started working.  Then, who had time.  Long story.

Got to do a few detested jobs within a few weeks.  Maybe a month or so.  Cleaning out and hauling to the dump and recycle stores.

Eating too many veggies. About to bust wide open. I'll put these away now.

Look at this sharp dressed man! Ready to rake in the girls.  I think he will be a singer!  That hat just makes me think so.  And those eyes...they'll be bright blue "come here" one, one day surely.

The ladies were swooning right and left!  Him gots a killer smile!

Movin and groovin

Just finished my indoor walking.  Love it.  It's almost what I would call addictive but if you're going to be that way about something, better to be so to this, than many other things. I may do one more shorter one before I head to the store for some stew beef so as to get my step goal in.  I could go outside to the park or gym but I swear I sweat more with this style of walking than out there as there are a lot of arm movements.  I wonder if Maybeme also does such indoor walking.  I said that because of something she said in her last blog.  A lot of we cat bloggers have been talking on one of our mutual facebook pages for "Cats who Blog" about a super young Pilipino leader/creator of programs for indoor walking.  He uses gestures and doesn't talk.  LOVE his style.  He has a million watt smile too.

What shall I make for lunch tomorrow?  I am having my daughter-in-law and didn't  know that till just an hour ago.  So, not too prepared.  Made tuna salad last time and we feasted on sandwiches.  YUM.  My egg salad isn't as good as I wish it was.  It's good...but doesn't get up and sign song nor dance..so...I don't make it too often. Eggs of course, salt and pepper, a spoon of pickle relish, yellow mustard...a bit of minced onion...mayo.  But light mayo.  I'm one who cuts the boiled egg in half, get out the cooked yolk, put the white separately in a bowl...dice the whites, put the other ingredients into the mashed up yolks.  Pour the whites into that mixture, fold,  and hope. What do you do?

Too late to mess with making soup.  Darn.

Well, I'll comb my hair after flouncing around the room flailing my arms before I put on my coat and venture out again.  I swear, while I trying to do one of the arm movement he was doing,  I glanced at my arms while trying to do as he was doing and  I looked like I was having a spasm.  I started laughing at how I looked.  I went to something less needing my attention re my arms.  I flapped them around some instead of what he was doing. Old dog...new tricks?

I'd better get cracking and out of here.  See you later.  Wanna come along?

Happy Birthday

One of my three sons is having a birthday today!  That called for all the reminiscences I was capable of. The craving I had carrying this boy was  for salmon.  I loved it anyway, but I could not get enough of it then.  I'll bet I must have made salmon for supper every night!  He is made from salmon...the youngest from lemon juice from real lemons. The lemon juice went into EVERYTHING.  And it was so good!  To me that is.  I sucked the juice out of lemons too.  The first boy was wholly made from SnoBalls and chocolate cooked pudding.

I can't imagine not having these three  boys and I am grateful to the core that I was gifted supremely by having them.  I celebrate each one with joy and the honor that they are mine.  Well, they were.  Not any longer but I claim them nonetheless though others also do as well now.   Happy Birthday Bruce.  You realized your dream of a career in education.  You earned your degrees, and use them in your work.  You let no one in the system turn you from the right thing or from your principles.  You earned every honor that you have been given, and they are many.  You stand straight and tall and good.  You've added to the State you live in regarding what you have contributed  to them through your Fulbright Scholarships including the Fulbright Seminars.

I have always been proud of you.
