Hm...

Well,  the price went down to $1.69 for a can of green beans.  Still .60 cents higher than a few weeks ago but better than the $1.90 it was.   It took two days for the price to go down a little.  But at least it did.  A little.  Perhaps people other than I were outraged?

Another day of sun!  I think after tomorrow, there will be three to four days of rain.   *sigh*  But that beats ice and snow.

I bought another cage to hang the big block of seeds I bought for the birds like cardinals and woodpeckers, jays and so forth.  The crows and squirrels broke the chain on the cage I had, with their heavy weight.  Two or more squirrels swarming on it...crows, while lighter I assume, were interested in it too.

I also got more suet, but I don't know the brand of what was gifted to me at Christmas time.  I wouldn't have thought to pay attention to it.  I wish I had as the birds loved that suet more than anything I have put out there to now.   The person giving it paid no attention to the brand so asking them did not help.

If the squirrels decimate this cage as well...I won't buy another.  Even I know what to give up.

I cleaned well Saturday but already it is looking not-so-good.  One cat, and a fave brovver and myself seem to make it look messy.  Well, I clean up after myself.  Them? Maybe not so much.   They have me to handle that for them.

I put a link in Katie's blog to the u-Tube of Pete Cusack's Timmy Tomcat's Cardwood Derby entry in his Cat Scout's blog.  The sound of grinding gears and the engine starting had me rolling all over the floor laughing.  It just hit me hilarious.  More than just funny! I hope some of you saw it.

On another note- and the "who cares" department...I have gotten a decent start to my aerobics again after a month off because of duties here.  I am so glad.  I feel better and have some bounce to my steps again.  I missed working out so much.  I hope I can continue  in a regular way as I always used to.  Sometimes I get too tired to prance around in the late day.  I prefer late morning to early afternoon if the day is calmer.

I thought this was a great caption to the picture!  ðŸ˜›

A Few Cents off Seven DOLLARS? WHAT?

I was looking for a few things in the grocery store today and good GRIEF!  Firstly, there is no decaffeinated diet Coke to be found in any store in town.  None.  Nada.  Nope.  Not gonna do it.

But I thought, "well I'll get some Sprite Zero."  It listed a few cents less that seven dollars!  SEVEN dollars. A 12 pack.  I drink plenty of water...never think I don't.  But I like at least one carbonated drink a day.  It burns my tonsils mostly out of my throat from strong carbonation, but I like it that way. SEVEN DOLLARS! And a .67 cent can of Green Giant green beans...$1.97?  Excuse me?  $1.97??? Delmonte IS $2.00.

If anyone wants to ask if I have heard of inflation, I have.  As I said.  What a difference a year makes.

Anyway, I went all over town and was unable to get Katie any food unless kitten food.  It is getting scary not finding food.  There was a bit of kitten food, but kittens have to-eat plus the calories are high because it is kitten food.  They're all that junk with vegetables and soup, cheese and greens in it.  Grain, cereal, veggies.   The manufacture made it for human satisfaction, not for obligate carnivores. If it comes to starving or eating that trash, then horribly, I'll have  to buy it.

I  was sent several fun things today.  One I put in FaceBook (totes cracked me UP!) and the other..I will put it here for you.

Now I see it!

Thank you to a fellow blogger who told me how to schedule publishing a blog again.  I knew before of course, but I didn't hunt and peck enough with the remaining features after Google changed some things.  I assumed wrongly that they took that feature away.  Nope.  I'm a dope.  But I have it now!

Headed to the Dr. tomorrow.  I had the covid test (negative)  and diagnosis of acute sinusitis and acute bronchitis.  And great meds that did a lot of good in a relatively short time.  I still have the after burners so to speak. But I am so much better!  I just need to see the Dr. to discuss a remedy I used for years that he is going me a break from.  We are going to try something else, and I would like to get started.

This weekend I did an almost full and total housecleaning.  Looked grand as I sat and looked at my efforts.  I did not do the inside tub only.  I was going to do that today, and didn't.  I should hire myself out!

Went out and fruitlessly tried to find cat food that isn't the cheapest of the cheap.  I guess my next step after this blog writing is going to Chewy.  They just don't seem to be making cat food any longer.  Dog food isn't an option unless total desperation as it doesn't contain the things, as for example, taurine, that cats have to have.  A sulfur-containing amino acid important in the metabolism of fats.  Chemical formula: NH2CH2CH2SO3H.

We are having spaghetti with some meatballs this evening.  I have the spaghetti out,  That's as far as I have made it.  Come on over if you want to.  The meatballs are Sicilian supposedly.  They are darned good. Confession.  Never having heard the word Parmesan said aloud--- for years---(far too many years) embarrassingly enough...I mis-pronounced it until perhaps 10 years ago,  Me, the English maven.  I am sorry to say I pronounced it "par-MEEE-sian.  I still do but only in the family and as a family joke.  They say it too.  Not to outsiders of course.

Notice the high cost of food shopping?  It's shocking.

And so is gas, heating fuel, and many other things.  What a difference a year makes.

So...I will go in, get out the  parmeeesian, start meatballs and dinner will be ready before you know it.

Still Plugging Along

I'm doing pretty well I think.  I took the comments to be less active during the getting better time.  Since so many people said it, I thought I had better heed the good advice.

My nose is like a faucet.  I am close to using  a box of tissues a day.   My chest is tight and my cough sounds yucky.  Surely that will all fade as more time passes.  BUT that beats the heck out of how I was Wednesday when I got to start my meds. Acute bronchitis and acute sinusitis...no idea how I contracted that.  But if all goes well, I am going up out of it.

Made spaghetti and meat sauce tonight,  Tired of the meatball thingy.  I have no taste yet.  I was surprised I couldn't taste or smell.  Looked it up and that is not uncommon at all with the bad case I have going on here.  Says it may take 3 weeks to regain.  I didn't know why food seemed so close to unpleasant until it finally dawned on me that I was tasting something but not well.  Everything was like a cheap imitation cardboardy type food substitute.

Just coming by.  I am putting off doing the dishes another few minutes.  I have to evict Katie from my bed.  She is holding down that crocheted bedspread that's so lovely.  Trying to get the furs out of the intricate design...not fun.  But, I never ask her to leave.

They really are the boss, you know.  Only the most severe discomfort will make me ask her to get off my chest where it fees like an anvil is lying.  These days, I have to request she leave when we go to bed.  She's been pretty good about it.  Sleeps to the side of my waist.

Welp...off into the night (kitchen) I go.  See ya there.  Though if I do, will *I* ever be surprised!

Hoped you might enjoy one of my flower stories I published with their portrait on Flickr some time ago.  I have a lot of little stories there that I heard while walking in their gardens.  Here is one...just for you.  You may have to biggafy.

Time Marches On

 Guys,

After several days of treatment...I am better  Not ready for a while to be cured but SURE better than I was.  I wish I had a different antibiotic as one has to e careful with interaction with this one...and the steroid pills..bitter as can be.  BUT something of the two of them are sure working on the varying forms of inflammation generated by the acute bronchitis.  (the Dr. said it was from the sinus drainage going to the lungs and involving them with infection.)

I am full of wheezing now from some of the breakup in my chest and eased while coughing.   The cough medicine is high power and has stopped a great deal of the coughing.  I will carry my proof of testing for the evil C with me because I am going to sound horrible while waiting in various places.

I never had a fever during all this ever,  my normal 97.  But I was chilled during all this sickness and bundled all the time in house and bed.  Now I am back to normal clothing.  Bedding is still heavy with blanket and silk comforter.  I peeled the comforter back a little about 5...so getting better.

Can I ever speak of something else you wonder?  Who can blame ya.  I will.

A loved Christmas pressies.  Cast iron.

Where in the World Have I Been? (Who Cares)

Howdy again!  I have not hardly been still a minute since I last was here.  And now I am sick.  That rarely happens but it finally got me!  I suspect that it was the last two times we ate out.  Long time readers may recall that twice in past years (but always in the month of March for some strange reason), I got bronchitis...a bad BAD case of it each time, Coughing that lasted weeks, kept me awake much of the night until I finally recorded it and played it for the Dr. as proof (not asked for...I just volunteered it) that the cough was b-a-d.  And long lasting.  That time, she wrote a prescription for codeine cough medicine.  Knocked out that pernicious cough the first dose.  I only used it one more time the next day. It sat in the cabinet for years.  I took it back to the DR and asked if I could save it safely inn case...he said no.  That is was partially solidified!  That old!

So, a week and a half ago, I started a nagging small cough.  I continued.  No fever...never have had a fever with this bout of something to this second.  97.6 daily. The coughing was tight and non productive.  Until I bought the Delsym that was recommended by my DIL.  That stuff went to work for a real calming some of the coughing that had my rib case and back sore from such coughing.  I expelled every iota of air in my lungs and hurt my ribs, etc.  But it also broke up the congestion I didn't know was in my chest.  Holy smokes.  I got up this morning and by the time I ate breakfast and was reading mail...I broke into a coughing fit as  I haven't had in years and years.  All that matter in my lungs came up and as I gasped for air after losing every trace of air in my lungs coughing, long and drawn out...I could not intake any air, because mucous clogged my airways.  Talk about not good!  It was a struggle there for a minute getting any air into my lungs.  BUT after all that I felt better.  I had to get Katie's brother to call for an appt. for me at my Dr's. office as I have a deep deep gravel voice now...just about lost. Can't rasp above a whisper without another bad coughing fit ending in 2 or more sneezes I haven't the air for.  Go figure.

Here's hoping I get better!  I will have a forced covid test at the Dr.,  but I know it is not covid.  If it is, I will tell you.

Wonder whatever happened to Dad Pete's kitties, Rumpy, Einstein, everyone.  I worry about them.

Magnolia.  Coming soon!!  This is a Grande Flora.
