If I had been lacking sleep I would have had a great jolt waking me up this early afternoon.
I was driving through the neighborhood, and I was later glad I was following the speed limit of 25 mph. I came to the last intersection before arriving to the main drag through town- and this probably a 13 year old girl, yapping non stop from what I could see on her phone and gesticulating like an air traffic controller might if he was on the ground...just walked right on out into the street right in front of me. I had a bad feeling she was going to do that, so I had already started breaking. She couldn't have been more than 3 feet away from me when SHE came to a halt. I was already stopped. She was that close to waking straight into my car. She looked at me~I looked at her, and she walked behind me..I drove on. It didn't startle me because I saw her...I was already slowing to less than 5 and stopped when almost walked right in front of me. I saw the doofus she was talking to I'll bet, a block up the street walking along like another traffic controller, arms flying in all directions..laughing, giggling (I heard it) and just going along fairly well paced. Two dummies. But at least one was on the sidewalk still.
It's Sunday, and absolutely nothing I can bear to watch on TV so it has remained off after her baby shows this morning. I will crack a new book that I told another blogger I was hoping to finally have time to read after all was going on stopped! I will give it to him to read when I am done. It's a mutually liked topic by a well known author.
The youngest son is recovering very well. Getting up and walking around with a walker in a few rooms, 5 times a day. Still on a liquid diet. That will be over soon. K.I.'s oldest favorite brovver is doing better after two scares end of last week as well. Things were hopping, let me tell you. Middle favorite brovver is back over the mountains, teaching summer school. Me, I am finally resting some. Feels very nice. I have had 2 great nights of sleep. Highly unusual. Katie said I slept like a rock lying out in a field Friday night and she was right. She could have bitten my nose and I would have slept on. Saturday night too.
Tomatoes are all ripening at once. Darn. But I love them so I can just slice and eat. I may shred some lettuce and lay in tomato diced up, and just go for it with nothing else on or in it.
Middle boy took this picture I am including in a local grocery the other day and said what I typed at the bottom of the picture. I laughed so loud people looked at me. And laughed again!
