Thank you for all that you said in comments. I was having a particularly low moment and feeling discouraged. You made it all better. Just like a friend should. Thank you so much.
I am, as I said to a friend yesterday, as busy as an out of control chain saw! I'm buzzing and sawing through chores and duties and many things that I traditionally had a schedule for. That can't happen right now, a schedule, so I hit a chore or duty when I can. As the popular saying goes, it's all good.
It's cold out there- which I love. The sun is shining strongly which the cat loves. Well, me too. I went out yesterday after much of the busy work was done and enjoyed the heck out of just grocery shopping. It was gorgeous out...and I noticed other blogger friends had the same weather as I was having. A brisk delightful wind, maybe 12-15 mph that stayed...didn't fade, and the leaves falling from the trees like rain from the sky. I have always loved that sight since I was a child single digits of age. The temperature was low 50's, the sun shining like everyone enjoys, the leaves sweeping across the streets and lawns making that crispy sound as they dance along the hard surfaces. It's one of those times I don't mind my hair blowing around my head (it's long) as I love a wind shampoo. The entire afternoon lifted me up in Soul and spirit, making a wide happy smile on my face the entire time I was out.
Anyone else love nature so to speak? I am thankful for all its iterations. Sun, rain, even snow.. . (don't like ice storms though...for certain). There is beauty to be had in LL of its changes. My favorite seasons are Fall and Spring. Winter is third and Summer...that's last because of the oppressive humidity.
Someone sent me a picture he took with his phone while making a round at work. I took it and sharpened it up a tad just so I could present it to you as well...my good friends. Here it is:

Simply beautiful rose. Loved seeing it. Our leaves have literally blown away yesterday in severe wind and rain storm.
ReplyDeleteLoving the look of the bright clear blue sky today. The chill is
here to stay now. Getting the chores done is necessary, but I always remember, it'll all be there waiting later. Enjoy what you can when you can.
Getting outside has proven to be the best way for me to shake the blues: the cooped up inside blues, the work frustration blues, the 'there is nothing that I can do to help' blues. And yes, for me, there is the Autumn Melancholy that settles in. So, a brisk walk outside, or an hours sitting on the deck with The PO'M, always lifts my mood.
ReplyDeleteTell your friend that the rose is lovely. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you back, I'm glad you didn't delete your blog, though of course you always must do what's best for you. Sometimes a break is all we need, though.
Take care.
What a lovely rose! Your friend has great perspective.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly you didn't delete the blog, though I understand the moments of feeling blue. Enjoy the sun and wind, and I'll gladly forward you some snow. Not sure it will make it there intact though.
Take care, and stay well!
Dearest Kim,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful rose, cheers a person up!
So much happened to you and also to us. In one week time the Mac stalled, was in repair for 6 days, my iPhone died but that got solved by a clever Verizon lady and I was so happy. NOW, I finally could log into my Google account again and have the code sent to my phone...
Same week we got a message about a fraud on our Visa card from Chase, for our Hyatt points... Two amounts were charged but they reversed it all and closed the account. Sent us new cards and now I have to change the data for automatic payments... So much to do! Pieter went biking by himself yesterday and today. I'd love to bike but shampooed my hair instead. Had a stomach bug on Friday and Saturday and couldn't go anywhere... feel fine now!
So planning that is at times hard. Got the upper house cleaned though on Saturday and partly Sunday; felt happy about that.
Thank you for your special Friendship!
Hugs,
Mariette
What a pretty rose. Yes, encouraging words from friends lift our spirits. Sometimes when I take a walk I start thanking God for good things and my list goes on and on. Lots of good things, in the midst of these trying times. Be of good cheer.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteI am glad you are back. I like it cold too-especially since hot flashes came along. :) XO
ReplyDeleteAutumn is nice.
ReplyDeleteIt is very windy here 35 miles west of the pool of cess.
Sunny, maybe 44 with the wind chill included.
NOT a good day to rake, I just hope all the leaves blow into my neighbors yard (love those winds from the west)
I just do not have time to be moody. I keep trying to fit it into my schedule but situations keep coming up that I have to put on my cheerful happy "facade" haha
Welcome by Carole...do drop in and leave us words when you can. I love your Ramblings. Windy in Dixie today what leaves we had turning have now turned loose.
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Such a pretty flower
ReplyDeleteI am a busy as my body will allow my mind wants to do more my body says "what the hell are you crzy".
So glad you have found a bit of peace in your world. I have working like a crazy person trying to get things done before heavy winter sets in. We had snow yesterday so it is coming-whether I am ready or not.
ReplyDeleteI hope all your days are bright and full of good things as we head towards Thanksgiving and Christmas. xo Diana
Oh yes I love nature. My favorite season is fall. It used to be spring, but bugs annoy me too much, so I decided fall would be the best :-D
ReplyDeleteIt's good to read that you're back. And yes, nature re-vitalises one, just as urban life can drain one. Nature is, well, natural...
ReplyDeleteWe love nature, too, Carole. Something about it rally refreshes and restores one's spirit. My favorite seasons are spring and fall, then summer, and winter last. Winter is last because I'm not a fan of the cold. It IS pretty, though. :) Hugs to you and Katie!
ReplyDeletefor me there is nothing better than wearing appropriate clothing and breathing that brisk air! I look forward all year to wearing my favorite wool capes and hats :D I bet you do too! Somehow we will survive this strange phenomenon we are in and continue with our lives changed but continue
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back. I have occasionally thought of not blogging anymore (no new pics, no new thoughts, time at computer, etc) but I always return after a week.
ReplyDeleteI love the variation in weather, things to do outside, and the critters I see. When I was a child, I spent most of the days outside playing and camping; I was active. In college, I would read my textbooks outside often. That was probably the most sterile environment I lived in, but there were dozens of other students around me and they exposed me to new germs and microbes when my body was best able to adapt to them. As an adult, I garden, and walk around the semi-wild backyard.
I credit my health to my younger days of playing in the dirt, creek water, and handling live critters. And continuing to "play in the dirt" as an adult by gardening, squashing bad bugs by hand, and keeping in contact with the cats (they bring in debris from outside and I brush it off by hand). I am convinced that exposure to the natural world brings some positive low-level immunity to many routine common illnesses in our rather more sanitary existence.
Children today do not live as I did. There are children in nearby houses. I seldom see them outside. And I KNOW they don't dig around in the dirt or handle any critters. I suspect they will never have the same exposure to "the general microbe world" as I did. And I suspect (sadly) they will be sicker as a result.
